„Die Wände sind bis zwei Fuß hoch mit Lambris von poliertem Verde antico umgeben“ Ein in der römischen Antike genutztes Gestein im Thronsaal des Schweriner Schlosses?

Nach Stüler et al. (1869) wurden die Säulen und die Postamente im Thronsaal jeweils von zwei verschiedenen italienischen Bildhauern in den Steinbrüchen von Carrara gefertigt. Am Postament fällt die Verblendung mit Giallo antico ins Auge. Das Gestein an den Sockelzonen der Wände erscheint als dunkelgrüne, fast schwarze Breccie (Foto: Ulf Kempe). Figure 9.
